Presence is similarly unstable. It can exist without a visible body, lingering in the spaces we occupy and the traces we leave behind. The residue of a life is ephemeral, yet a space retains something of having been inhabited.
These photographs consider the shifting relationship between the self and its surroundings. Made from moments of intimacy, solitude, observation, movement, and experimentation, the work traces the experience of occupying a life that can feel at once immediate and strangely distant.
