MIA DONAJ is an interdisciplniary artist specializing in photogrpahy, videography, and bookmaking, currently based in metro Detroit. Her practice explores identity, intimacy, autonomy, and the permeability of human beings. She is particularly interested in contradiction: the desire to belong and to remain separate, restriction, and freedom, vulnerability and self-preservation. Her work moves between personal experience and broader questions about what it means to inhabit a body, form relationships, and construct a sense of self.

MIA DONAJ is completing her BFA at the University of Michigan Penny Stamps College of Art and Design, and is expected to graduate in Winter ‘27.
